CANDIDATE STATEMENT
This is the 21st Century. Our education system needs to help lead our region into new industry and job markets for our youth and displaced workers. There are opportunities for stronger ties between Merced College and our community partners. I do and have run businesses in Merced County, including farming, retail garden centers, a landscape contracting business, a sustainable farm supply and agricultural consulting. I have served on boards of statewide organizations and local groups, and am currently a county planning commissioner. I have taught classes at Merced College and my children and I have attended, there. My business, board, education and government experience will help me to be an effective Merced College Trustee.
